The man named Stephen Birrell. He always say some bad words to abuse Catholics on the internet.Actually he is a strongly sectarian man.And some organization didn't allow him to attending the football match for five years. His story warning everyone that eventhough internet is a place to talk freely, but some times if you say it very excessive and regular, you will be taken our medicine. And make the word can not incitement to violence.Be carefull.
I think it is a fair article ,we know different people's attitude about Stephen Birrell, the readers can understand the fact clearly by themselves. Also it is a deter article the writer tell us a lot punitive sanctions which come from different institution on Stephen Birrell.

The news is about a 95-year-old-woman gets life term for killing doctor-in-law.Meenu and his son was burned in her house and at first she was injuried, and then she gave his declarations to the court. At the begining, the court thought her declaration was untruthy but later they prove it is trustworthy. The whole news is about it was who murdered them and at last the court gave us the answer it was her mather-in-law killed them and he gets a lifelong sentence.
I think the news is fair, because the court analysis whether the dead people's evidence is trustworthy or not.
I think the news glorify, because it took a long time to sentence the criminal and they spent a lot of time finding whether the evidence is true or not.

Week 4/5 Assignment Empty Roman Catholic Church Sex Abuse Cases

Post  Monica class 4 Wed Oct 19, 2011 10:19 pm

    http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/organizations/r/roman_catholic_church_sex_abuse_cases/index.html?scp=7&sq=news%20of%20crimes&st=cse

On 14, May, 2011, the bishop of Kansas City, Robert Finn and the diocese he leads were accused of covering up the case of suspected child abuse which involved a priest who had been accused of taking lewd photographs of young girls. Mr. Robert has acknowledged that he knew of the existence of the photos in December 2010 but did not turn them over to the police until May 2011.Being unfolded to the public, the church is undergoing nothing less than an epochal shift: It pits the moral legacies of two popes and shakes the faith of many of the church’s members.

Personally speaking,it is aboslutely unfair. As a famous Chinese proverb says,"No one is above the law.",not to mention the bishop. The bishops in cathedral are always the representation of the faith, even the religion. They do not set a good example for their church's members but have profaned the long upheld traditions of the church.

This pieces of news does not give a clue of sentence to the two bishops,so it glorify people to commit a crime to some extent.

The second news of this website is what I'm going to say.
The news says that in Colombia Prison officials have caught an 11-year-old girl who was trying to smuggle 74 mobile phones and a revolver gun into a jail. When they investigated, they found the girl was in a crime. I think after reader read this news they may dare to do this kind of things, because this news is an easily deterred to them. I think if the guards didn’t suspicious or pay attention and be responsible when they saw the girl's jumper in irregular shapes underneath, the prison must be in a serious situation.

the news said that American officials accused Iran of being involved in a plot to kill Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the United States.but Iran's government said it was fabricated and baseless.and the crime's goal was to get Mexican drug traffickers to kill Saudi ambassador Adel al-Jubeir with a bomb at a Washington restaurant.at last Mr. Arbabsiar was arrested last month and told the truth.
in my opinion, it's fair to suspect Iran is indeed, although the prisoner had been caught. Iran was too foolish to agree this things happened. and Iran didin't feel guilt ,instead ,they thought it maybe helpfull for them. i hold that this crime should deter to keep the world peace.

Week 4/5 Assignment Empty Shooting outside New York school leaves one parent dead, two injured.

    Post  Amy4 Sat Oct 22, 2011 11:55 am

This news reported that there happened a shooting at 2:30 pm outside New York school. One parent dead and two inured . The police were investigating whether the shooter fired from a nearby rooftop where shell casings were discovered and how many shots were fired.Three men were seen fleeing the scene, and police were questioning at least one person. The shooter was being sought, and police offered a $12,000 reward for information .
I think this piece of news is unfair, because it is not point out a motive for murder, did not tell readers why the shooters choose killed people at a school. The news did not report more details about it.
I think the news glorified the crime, because it did not tell the seriousness of the incident and the most important thing is that the suspect without being caught. affraid

Week 4/5 Assignment Empty Five young students kill the students in the same school in Fujian Province

    Post  Sally4 Sat Oct 22, 2011 6:00 pm

The news was that October 9, 2002, Fuqing City, Fujian Province, police have uncovered in the middle school students killed in school case, Chen and arrested five suspects and seized two motorcycles a tool of crime, military pistol bullets, 3 64-type hair and other items. At 14:30 on the 7th , Fuqing City Police received a report families of the victims: 14:23 the same day, his family suddenly received a phone call criminals, said: "Chen (male, 13 years old, who started a middle school student ) requested that the family has been kidnapped to prepare 200,000 yuan ransom, saying not allowed to report, or peril. "The review,Confessed criminals that they play video games together because of the long-term and became friends, because Chen Chen, the mother and the mother of the victims have often quarreled Chen Mouhuai hate grievances in mind, and await the revenge, so Chen suspects will convene Kwak, Hwang, Yang the plot for revenge. No
In my opinion ,it is unbelievable,so crazy,in order to move it a little small and murder,I do not know they were after the killing of the victim how the kind of mood, but I'm sure they really regretted some panic.
It was fair.Although they were only students, but they must pay their own impulse, murders should be sentenced, to make them understand the seriousness.
I think this article deterred.I believe that through this report, many people think should be careful to go after the action, everyone is responsible for their actions, sounded the alarm for the future!

There are three Bangladeshi men have been arrested and detained after they were found to be working illegally in a Bangor restaurant. If the employers are unable to prove they conducted the correct pre-employment checks before recruiting staff, they may be liable for a fine of up to £30,000. That is a effective means of carry out to tackle immigration crime in Northern Ireland and taking jobs from those who are genuinely allowed to work. So this is a fair article and it did not place guilt on the criminal. Meanwhile I think this article deterred the crime.

Week 4/5 Assignment Empty 'Vicious' murderer confesses crime

    Post  Daisy4 Sun Oct 23, 2011 4:36 pm

    http://www.globaltimes.cn/NEWS/tabid/99/ID/669376/Vicious-murderer-confesses-crime.aspx

It is reported that Xiao, a 25-year-old Shanghai native who studied and worked as a kitchen hand in New Zealand was sentenced the death penalty because he had murdered a New Zealand taxi driver. After Xiao got into the taxi and said he worked in a hotel, the driver insulted him that Asians came to New Zealand to steal jobs. Then a fierce row broke out .Xiao asked the driver to let him out of the cab but the driver insisted he pay the 15.2 NZD fare. Consequently, in a pet Xiao pulled out his knife and stabbed the driver. Unluckily, the driver died. At court Xiao confessed his crime and pled for forgiveness from the driver’s families, but nothing worked. It is said that it was a first for New Zealand that a suspect who had committed a crime in New Zealand was tried and would later serve a sentence in his home country.

In my opinion, the news is fair, because the evidence is certain. Although Xiao protected his own right which is not violated, he killed people.

I think the news glorified the crime, because in the process of judgment, it promotes the friendly cooperation between China and New Zealand.

In my opinion, it's not the type of deter, but glorify.because we can't find some words that criticized the behavior of such a typical case. Also, the article didn't placed guilt on the criminal.A man called Joshua Flecha, a 32-year-old bartender. He masturbated in front of a woman in May at the entrance to the Seventh Avenue F and G train station in Park Slope. And young women have been groped in or near subway stations in Bay Ridge, Sunset Park and Park Slope. The assaults also include one rape.I think the man should be punished for a long time until he know he was totally wrong.Such kind of crimes warn us that we should pay more attention on the health of mental issues. bom

    Demonstration
After I read this news about corporate greed and economic mismanagement
demonstration,in my own opinion,I think it is unfair to the people who are in low income and living a poor life,it's so unfair that the poor hold demonstration in Washington Street. In order that the poor want to change the situation where they live in,because of extremes of unrestricted wealth and greed ,which result in poverty.People have lost their homes - because of bankster - the haven they've lost. They've lost their jobs. It's time now for a restructuring of their economic order. So they have to demonstrate in the street, the purpose is that they have been wanted to come into notice by government, which making progress towards solving the crisis.
As we all know that as a citizen, who want to protect their profit,as long as their rights are harmed by everything, they will hold some activities to resist, especially holding demonstration. So as citizens, their actions which protect their own rights are worth to glorify, however, the government's action is deter. We believe that in future ,the government will play a important rule in citizen's daily life.

Week 4/5 Assignment Empty Political Scandal

    Post  Jessica 4 Mon Oct 24, 2011 11:28 pm

Ten people have been arrested in the United States on suspicion of spying for Russia. The Justice Department said they’d been detained in raids on Sunday. An official statement said eight of those detained were believed to be engaged on “long-term, deep-cover assignments”. They used all the tools and technology of the 21st century to the infiltrate policy-making circles of the United States , and collected information for Russia, and they were using codes and ciphers, advanced computer operations.
This kind of high tech crime have happened frequently in recent years. The espionages steal the State secrets that damage other countries’ regime and profit. In my opinion, to stop this kind of scandal, every state should keep the political secret strictly and abide the law conscientiously. The world would develop harmoniously.

Week 4/5 Assignment Empty Hollywood and the Indian filmmakers have joined forces to tackle film piracy in India

    Post  Tina Class4 Tue Oct 25, 2011 1:57 pm

Hollywood and the Indian filmmakers have joined forces to tackle film piracy in India. They will work with cinemas to take stronger actions against pirates copying new films with camcorders. Electron Neil Smith reports.

The new alliance brings together seven Indian companies with the Motion Picture Association of America. It's aimed to help reduce the estimated one billion dollars lost in revenue each year to film piracy. They'll work closely with cinemas to prevent the copying of films with camcorders. Consumers in India are said to buy around 700 million piracy DVDs each year, as many as 90% of them that resort to people sitting in cinemas and secretly recording movies to copy and sell on.

    Դ: http://www.kekenet.com/broadcast/201003/99420.shtml

My opinion: from this news we know that pirates copying new films has become a

common and serious problem and some filmmakers are aware of it .So they began

to pretect their right of the creatation. It is great. However, alough they

take action, Effect is not obvious . There are some reason as fellows.

Firstly, pirate films are cheap and we can afford it .And also the price are

low ,about 3 or 5 yuan ,but the genuine aew about 18 yuan.So when we buy the

pirate ,we can save much money!!!

Secondly, the pirate CD are published so quickly. We can feel the latest

blockbuster in advance, but if we buy the genuine ,we need to wait for a long

    time!

Week 4/5 Assignment Empty Crime writer McDermid: I don't 'glorify' violence

Val McDermid is one of Britain's most popular novelists. Her stories of twisted killers and flawed detectives are part of a modern genre of graphic crime fiction that is far removed from the conventions of Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Compelling stories peppered with horrifying violence entertain millions around the world but are there lines she will not cross?
As far as Iam concerned,it is not fair people criticize the famous writer ,she wrote the killers, flawed dectives, she just expressed herself thoughts ,we have no right to criticize other people,as readers we just appreciate it,we do not imitate the muders, that we could not make a big mistakes。The writer did not glorify the facts, she has cancled the parts of the book ,she has realized what she had done ,and influenced. It none of her business!

    Post  Lindaclass4 Tue Oct 25, 2011 10:59 pm

    name:lindaclass4
head:Girl shot at school—stray bullet to blame?

Today I read the crime news about the Girl shot at school. It is about a student shot in the neck Monday at a Fayetteville high school in an incident. and it was shot with what appeared to be a small-caliber bullet. According to police office spokeswoman and a nearby middle school were locked down for hours before student were allowed to the home. They were not found the suspected man, so the school staff thought it might have been a stray bullet from a hunter or drive-by shooter. Finally, there will be metal detectors and beefed up security inside both school.
In my opinion, I think this article deterred, because no one saw a gun and someone who shot the girl.Abercrombie fell to the ground. Also I think the school should more pay attention to safety of our student. because life is very important for everybody.

Norway is reeling from two attacks in a number of hours, in which many people have been killed
One person dressed like a police officer entered the island and started the shooting. People have been swimming ashore and hiding. The situation was chaotic. The polices had arrested one person in connection with the shootings. Earlier, an explosion in the centre of the Norwegian capital Oslo killed seven people and injured a number of others. The police keep getting more detailed information.
The people who committed the crims are extremely brutal. I don’t know the reasons why they did these, they hurt killed so many innocent people. How many benefits can you get from it? Everyone desires to live in a peaceful world. Imagining your family was killed by others .what’s your feeling. They should be shotted by the police to make up their fault ,at the same time to warn the others avoiding do the same thing.
